Teacher Cabins
Teachers and staff members are housed in cabins around camp. The Teacher Fourplex has four cabins and a big porch that is shady most of the day. The Bee Hive cabin once had a colony of bees in its back wall. Sunshine Lowrance opened the hive when he was caretaker, and took out several gallons of honey. The "Billy the Kid" cabin is named for the legend that the outlaw, Billy the Kid, spent some nights there in 1881 - the year of his death. The cabin was the post office for Ferndale , NM from 1919 to 1925. |
